Empowering Harvard’s First-Generation Graduates
Harvard Next Gen Initiative is an organizational initiative that aims to expand institutional change and long-term investment in students who are “firsts” so that they can thrive as Harvard’s “next” generation of leaders.
As a first-generation college (and grad) student, this initiative deeply resonated with me.
Upon being selected to be a member of the Next Gen Graduation Committee, I wanted to utilize my design skills to help celebrate and empower my first-generation peers so that they will feel a sense of reward for their incredible achievements and indefatigable resiliency as they walk across the graduation stage.
Against all odds, we made it.
